Mangini is off beat in the beginning, making things sound really weird. Listen to the earlier versions with Portnoy, music just flows. I don’t listen to much dream theater since Portnoy left because they aren’t the same with mangini, and when I do try to listen to some of these later videos, it just proves me right on skipping them and watching the older videos.

Only the mic on the right kick drum seems to be working

What we're hearing isn't actually Mike playing. It's a recorded playback. If you check at 9:33 min., 12:11min and many others, it's completely different from his movements. Still, he's one of the best!

Mangini is such a great drummer, I dont know why he choose that horrible sound and tunning.

When I saw this video, I was crazy with practicing guitar for hours and hours, I was around 18 years old. Seeing Mustaine do the solo without hitting a "correct" note but transmitting everything he transmits, started to change my mind. He is not only metal, he is also rock and he is also punk.
